Cole Harbour Lawrencetown Beach Coastal Heritage Park

Cole Harbour Heritage Park Trail Hike

Join the Chebucto Hiking Club for a moderate 10 km group hike along the Cole Harbour Heritage Park Trail.  This hike is suitable for all ages and is rated as 2B - some moderate hill climbing and a significant part of the walk takes place on well-groomed trails with very little difficult terrain.  Meet the group at the trail parking lot, Bissett Road (1.3 km from Cole Harbour Rd).  Please be sure to bring snacks, lots of water, and hiking shoes or boots.  Contact Judy at (902) 462-1458 or visit www.chc.chebucto.org.

Shubenacadie Provincial Wildlife Park

Learn to Fish

Come celebrate Wildlife Week with us!  We are offering a "Learn to Fish" at the Shubenacadie Provincial Wildlife Park.   Join a Sport Fish Development Officer to learn the safe and proper way to fish in Nova Scotia.  See what you catch!  Fishing equipment will be supplied.  This is recommended for ages 8 to 100.   Please dress for the weather, rubber boats, sunglasses or safety glasses are mandatory.  Bring insect repellent, water and snacks. Participants will meet at the Greenwing Legancy Centre. This workshop will be offered both Saturday and Sunday.  Regular park admission applies.  You must pre-register and receive a confirmation from the park to participate. Five Bridge Lakes Wilderness Area

The Bluffs Wilderness Trail Hike

Join the Chebucto Hiking Club for a moderate to difficult 10 km or 18 km group hike suitable for all ages.  The 10 km hike is rated 3C - some significant hill climbing and a significant part of the walk takes place on somewhat difficult terrain(rocky,rooted paths).  The 18 km hike is rated 4D - a good deal of significant hill climbing with a significant part of the walk takes place on very difficult terrain.   Hikes takes approx 2 -3 hours for 10 km, and 5 - 6 hours for the 18 km.  Partipants will meet at the Bluff Trail parking lot next to Bay Self Storage at 2894 St. Margaret's Bay Road.  Please bring snacks, lunch, lots of water, hiking boots & dress for weather conditions.  Contact Dave or Doreen at (902) 865-5268 or visit www.chc.chebucto.org.

Spring Celebration

Join us for our annual Spring Celebration at the Shubenacadie Provincial Wildlife Park.  Bring the family out to participate in a scavenger hunt for large wooden eggs throughout the Park and win a prize!  Free face painting and craft.  Enjoy a cup of hot chocolate after your hike through the park.  Dress for the weather.  Come to the Greenwing Legacy Interpretive Centre located on the grounds of the Shubenacadie Wildlife Park.   Sponsored by NS Department of Natural Resources.
